Collection: 📚 St. Rita of Cascia

St. Rita of Cascia was an Italian Augustinian nun known for her patience, forgiveness, and deep union with the suffering Christ. Though she desired religious life from a young age, she obediently entered into marriage, where she endured an abusive husband with prayer and gentleness. Over time, her husband experienced conversion before being killed in a family feud. After the deaths of her two sons, Rita entered the Augustinian convent in Cascia, dedicating herself to prayer, penance, and charity.

She became known for extraordinary mystical experiences, especially receiving a wound on her forehead resembling a thorn from Christ’s crown during meditation on His Passion. Her holiness, humility, and miracles earned her widespread devotion, and she is especially invoked in desperate or seemingly impossible situations.
