Our Lady of La Salette refers to a Marian apparition that took place on September 19, 1846, near the village of La Salette in the French Alps. The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to two children, Maximin Giraud and Mélanie Calvat, weeping and dressed in a radiant light. She called for conversion, reconciliation, and respect for God’s name and the Sabbath. Her message urged prayer and repentance, offering hope for mercy and renewal. The apparition was later approved by the Church and inspired the founding of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette. She is venerated as a messenger of compassion, reconciliation, and peace.
