St. Charbel Makhlouf was a 19th-century Lebanese Maronite monk and priest, known for his deep holiness, humility, and miraculous intercessions. Born in 1828 in the mountain village of Bekaa Kafra, Lebanon, he entered the Maronite Monastery of St. Maron and later lived as a hermit devoted to prayer, fasting, and the Eucharist. His life of solitude and sacrifice inspired many, and after his death, countless miracles of healing and conversion were reported through his intercession. St. Charbel is remembered as a shining example of contemplative faith and total union with God.
