St. Philip Neri was a 16th-century Italian priest and founder of the Congregation of the Oratory, known for his joyful spirit, humility, and dedication to prayer and pastoral care. Born in 1515 in Florence, he moved to Rome, where he became renowned for his preaching, guidance of young people, and efforts to reform the Church through example rather than authority. St. Philip emphasized joy, music, and personal holiness in the spiritual life, earning him the title โ€œApostle of Rome.โ€ His life of humor, devotion, and charitable works inspired countless Catholics to deepen their faith and embrace a personal relationship with God.
