St. Joachim, husband of St. Anne, is traditionally recognized as the father of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the grandfather of Jesus Christ. Though little is recorded about his life in Scripture, tradition holds that he was a righteous man who, along with his wife, fervently prayed for a child. His faithful obedience and trust in God’s plan helped prepare the way for the Incarnation, making him an exemplar of paternal devotion and patience.
