St. Joseph of Cupertino was an Italian Franciscan friar known for his deep humility, simplicity, and mystical experiences, including frequent levitations during prayer. Despite his lack of formal education and initial struggles to become a priest, Joseph was finally ordained and spent much of his life in the remote friary at Cupertino. His extraordinary connection with God and his deep devotion to prayer earned him a reputation as a saint, particularly in his care for others through prayer and the Sacraments. St. Joseph is the patron saint of students, particularly those who struggle with learning, as he was himself an unlikely candidate for ordination due to his difficulties in study.
