Our Lady of Medjugorje refers to reported apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary that began in 1981 in the small village of Medjugorje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Six young visionaries claimed to have seen Mary, who presented herself as the “Queen of Peace.” Her messages have consistently called for prayer, fasting, conversion, penance, and peace throughout the world. Over the years, Medjugorje has become a major pilgrimage site, drawing millions who seek spiritual renewal and a deeper relationship with God. While the Church has not given full approval of the apparitions, it recognizes Medjugorje as a place of genuine conversion and pastoral care.
