Collection: 📚 St. Aloysius Gonzaga

St. Aloysius Gonzaga was an Italian Jesuit seminarian renowned for his purity, prayer, and selfless charity. Born into a noble family in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Italy, he was expected to pursue a military or political career. Instead, after a profound spiritual conversion, he renounced his inheritance and devoted his life entirely to God, entering the Society of Jesus despite strong opposition from his family.

As a Jesuit, Aloysius distinguished himself by his deep prayer life, humility, and devotion to the Blessed Sacrament. During a plague outbreak in Rome, he volunteered to care for the sick and dying, carrying victims to hospitals and providing both physical and spiritual assistance. In the course of this service, he contracted the disease and died at the age of twenty-three.

Though his life was brief, Aloysius became a model of youthful holiness and sacrificial love. His example continues to inspire young people to pursue virtue, purity, and generous service to others.
