📚 Sacred Heart of Jesus

The Sacred Heart of Jesus is one of the most beloved devotions in the Catholic Church, honoring the boundless love, mercy, and compassion of Christ for humanity. The image traditionally depicts Jesus pointing to His Heart, which is aflame with divine love, encircled by a crown of thorns, and surmounted by a cross. These symbols remind the faithful of Christ’s suffering, His sacrificial love, and His desire to draw all people to Himself.

While devotion to the Heart of Jesus has ancient roots in the Church, it received renewed emphasis through the revelations given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque between 1673 and 1675. In these apparitions, Jesus encouraged devotion to His Sacred Heart, frequent reception of the Eucharist, especially on First Fridays, and acts of reparation for sins committed against His love.

The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart is celebrated on the Friday following the second Sunday after Pentecost. The devotion emphasizes trust in Christ, His mercy toward sinners, and His desire for a personal relationship with every soul.
