Collection: 📚 St. Expedite
St. Expedite is venerated as a Roman soldier-martyr who chose immediate obedience to Christ over delay or compromise. According to tradition, when he resolved to convert, a crow cried “cras” (“tomorrow”), tempting him to postpone his decision, but Expedite crushed the bird and declared “hodie” (“today”), symbolizing decisive faith. Though historical details are limited and debated, devotion to St. Expedite has spread widely in the Church, especially among those seeking swift help in urgent matters, encouraging prompt trust in God’s will rather than hesitation.
Lived: Traditionally early 4th century (during the persecution of Diocletian) | Feast Day: April 19 | Canonized: Pre-Congregation
Patronage: Urgent causes, procrastinators, business matters, legal matters, and quick solutions
