St. Genevieve was a devout and courageous young woman who became the patroness of Paris through her unwavering faith and prayer. Born in 5th-century Gaul, she consecrated her life to God as a child and became known for her acts of charity, prophecies, and miracles. During the siege of Paris by Attila the Hun, her bold leadership and prayerful fasting encouraged the people, and the city was spared. She continued to care for the poor and sick throughout her life, gaining the love and veneration of generations to come.
