Collection: ㅤBlessed Pier Giorgio Frassati

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati was an Italian layman known for his deep faith, love of the poor, and adventurous spirit. Born into a wealthy family in 1901, he chose to dedicate his life to serving the needy, often giving away his own money, clothes, and time to help those less fortunate. A passionate outdoorsman, he found God in nature and often climbed mountains, famously saying, "Verso l’alto" ("To the heights"). Despite his young age, he was an active member of Catholic social movements and devoted himself to the Eucharist and Marian devotion. He died at just 24 from polio, likely contracted while helping the poor. His funeral was attended by thousands of the very people he had served in secret.
