Collection: ㅤSt. Mark the Evangelist

St. Mark was a disciple of St. Peter and the author of the second Gospel. Tradition holds that he founded the Church in Alexandria, making him the first bishop of Egypt and one of the great pillars of early Christianity. His Gospel emphasizes the suffering and humanity of Christ and was likely based on Peter’s firsthand accounts. He is often symbolized by a winged lion and is especially honored in Venice, where his relics are enshrined in the grand basilica that bears his name.
